About this medicine

Zytorvi 240mg Injection (Toripalimab (240mg))is a prescription oncology medicine. Below is educational product information — follow your doctor's advice for dose and use.

Zytorvi 240mg Injection is a prescription immunotherapy medication used to treat nasopharyngeal carcinoma, a rare cancer located in the upper throat behind the nose, by helping the body's immune system target and combat cancerous cells. Administered exclusively by healthcare professionals in a clinical setting, it can be used alone or combined with other therapies, making regular attendance at all scheduled appointments essential since missing a dose can reduce its overall effectiveness. Common side effects include fatigue, hypothyroidism, and joint or muscle pain, which should be reported to a doctor if they persist so that management strategies can be provided. Before starting treatment, patients must disclose all pre-existing medical conditions and current medications to avoid harmful interactions, and the drug must be strictly avoided by pregnant or breastfeeding women due to severe risks to the developing child.

Frequently Asked Questions

Zytorvi is an immunotherapy medicine containing Toripalimab (240 mg/6 mL). It belongs to a class of medications called immune checkpoint inhibitors (anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibodies).

It is primarily indicated for the treatment of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma (NPC), a type of head and neck cancer located behind the nose: In combination with chemotherapy (cisplatin and gemcitabine) for first-line treatment of recurrent or metastatic advanced NPC. As a single agent (monotherapy) for recurrent or metastatic NPC that has progressed after platinum-based chemotherapy.

Toripalimab targets and blocks the PD-1 receptor on T cells. Cancer cells frequently exploit the PD-1 pathway to avoid detection. By blocking this pathway, Zytorvi reactivates the patient's immune system, empowering T cells to recognize and destroy cancer cells.

Zytorvi is administered as an intravenous (IV) infusion under the supervision of a qualified medical oncologist or oncology nurse in a specialized clinical setting. It must never be taken orally or self-injected.

Common side effects include fatigue, musculoskeletal pain, rash, nausea, loss of appetite, and thyroid abnormalities (such as hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism).

Because Zytorvi stimulates the immune system, it can occasionally cause immune cells to attack normal organs. These immune-mediated reactions can affect the lungs (pneumonitis), liver (hepatitis), bowels (colitis/severe diarrhea), kidneys, or hormone glands. Report symptoms like persistent cough, shortness of breath, severe diarrhea, or sudden vision/endocrine changes to the treating oncologist immediately.

If an infusion appointment is missed, contact the oncology care team as soon as possible to reschedule. Do not attempt to take a double dose or compress treatment cycles without direct physician instructions.

No. Toripalimab can cause fetal harm. Women of reproductive potential should confirm they are not pregnant before beginning treatment and must use effective contraception during treatment and for at least 4 months after the final dose. Breastfeeding is not recommended during this period.

Vials must be stored refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C (36°F to 46°F) in their original packaging to protect them from light and moisture. Do not freeze and do not shake the vial.
