- In Apnea of prematurity In a premature baby, the part of the brain that controls breathing is not mature enough for nonstop breathing. This causes large bursts of breath followed by periods of shallow breathing or stopped breathing. This is called apnea or breathing trouble of prematurity. Cafirate Injection helps to stimulate those areas of the brain that control breathing and normalise it. It is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse.
Side Effects of Cafirate Injection
- Delirium (acute confusional state)
- Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping)
- Frequent urge to urinate
- Dehydration
- Fever
