Yervoi (ipilimumab) 50 mg/10 mL is administered exclusively as an intravenous (IV) infusion over 90 minutes through a dedicated IV line equipped with a sterile, non-pyrogenic, low-protein-binding in-line filter (0.2 to 1.2 micrometers). It should never be given as an IV push or bolus. If a planned dose is missed, it must be administered as soon as possible, and the remaining dosing schedule should be adjusted accordingly to preserve the designated interval between infusions. Treatment must be permanently discontinued or withheld if severe or life-threatening immune-mediated adverse reactions develop.

Common side effects include fatigue, diarrhea, pruritus (itching), rash, nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, and headache. Immediate medical attention is required if patients experience signs of severe immune-mediated reactions, such as persistent diarrhea, severe abdominal cramping, blood or mucus in stools, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), dark urine, shortness of breath, unexplained muscle weakness, severe headaches, or vision changes.

Yervoi is frequently co-administered with nivolumab (an anti-PD-1 antibody) across several indications, including metastatic melanoma, advanced renal cell carcinoma, malignant pleural mesothelioma, and MSI-H/dMMR colorectal cancer. In metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), it may also be combined with both nivolumab and histology-based platinum-doublet chemotherapy.
